New Moon: Discovering New Ways to Enjoy the Moon Viewing Experience

Today marks the new moon.
Last month, we had a partial lunar eclipse that was almost a total lunar eclipse.
The weather was good, and we were able to observe the moon gradually eclipse for a long time. How was it in your area?

It was my first time seeing the moon eclipse so clearly, so I was moved and at the same time felt a strange sensation. Was it reality or a dream? It was as if I was witnessing an unbelievable sight.
It was a full moon where I felt the mysterious power of the moon.

This month, I would like to introduce a book on the theme of "the moon" titled "Tsuki no Koyomi 2022" (Moon Calendar 2022) (supervised by Mitsuru Soma, published by Seibundo Shinkosha, 1,100 yen).

This book is a popular series released annually. In addition to information on the daily phases of the moon in 2022, names of the moon, the old calendar, the 24 solar terms, supermoons, and lunar eclipses, it also includes daily moonrise and moonset times, and monthly starry skies. It is a moon guide that will multiply the joy of gazing at the night sky.
It is richly illustrated by illustrator Ayumi Hanamatsu, making it easy to read and approachable.

Those of you reading this blog might already be consciously aware of the new moon and full moon days in your daily lives.
When you pay attention to the phases of the moon and changes in climate, you naturally realize that your body's rhythm also has waves and fluctuations.

We don't live alone; we are part of nature.
I think "the moment we look up at the sky" is when we can feel this most intimately.
When you idly follow the changing colors of the sky and the shapes of the clouds, or when you gaze at the moon floating in the sky... don't you feel a sense of comfort?
Alone, yet not alone.
The feeling of being watched over by the sky.
I believe everyone needs time to naturally connect with nature and find peace.
